hide messages

Is there anyway to hide warning messages produced by php? I have a warning that says:

Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/notjustball/webroot/view_cart.php3:4) in /home/notjustball/webroot/shoppingcart.php3 on line 34

and I don't know what it means, and it doesn't seem to affect the shopping cart, so I was thinking I could hide it.

that is an important one. it usually means that you tried to send a cookie after something was echoed by your script. theres a couple ways to fix this.
1) if you are using >=php4 then you can use output buffering. read about it in the manual
2) send the cookies at the very top of the page if possible.

Paul is correct above - you should address the root of the problem. However, for the sake of learning ...

if you have access to your PHP config file (%SYTEMROOT%\php.ini for win32) file, there are error logging options that you can turn off/on at varying levels for development vs. production. Good luck!
