What would cause this error message?

Warning: Unable to open 'C:\My Documents\documennt1.doc' for reading: No such file or directory in /home/union/public_html/do_upload.php on line 38

Here's my code:

copy($file, "home/union/public_html/uploads/$RID.$FORMAT");

So where's the problem?

The error message is telling you the file does not exist, does it? (Check for 'C:\My Documents\documennt1.doc' on you server's disk)

You have one windows path, and one unix type path, wtf? Are you trying to access a file on your local machine from the server? To do that you must upload it first. Check the manual for file upload for more info:
