If you mean the <TEXTAREA> HTML tag, then I don't think you can change font properties in it at all. Its just plain unformatted text.

Try using stylesheets, i.e.: <textarea rows='5' cols='30' style='font-weight:bold; font-style:italic'> This text should be bold/italic. </textarea>

thank you 4 all respond.... refer to new hotmail (compose)...we can bold, italic n so on that font in textarea where we type our mail....so i want try do like that.... any suggestion....

thats all active x stuff, whatever that is, cause it doesn't work on my mac, but works on my NT box.
