mcrypt errors

Hello everyone,

I'm having some problems with mcrypt functions. I'm using libmcrypt 2.2.7 and mcrypt 2.2.6. I ./configured libmcrypt with this flag: --disable-posix-threads
The php manual said that should be done.

I have some cc numbers stored in a database, that need to be decrypted so they can be read. Here's the error:
Warning: size of key is too large for this algorithm in /home2/golfballs.net/www/includes/crypt_lib.php on line 35

Warning: attempt to use an empty IV, which is NOT recommend in /home2/golfballs.net/www/includes/crypt_lib.php on line 35

And here is what the credit card number looks like AFTER it's supposedly decrypted:
IQé[±ÏgžóxÌ'•ýa¥•ÏÓb

I didn't write the code, some other people did, so I'm not exactly sure what they did. Has anyone seen the above errors before?

your key is to long try under 24 char.

using new mcrypt library tey using 2.2.X

try adding $crypted = bin2hex($crypted);
to make it in readable format
