First off, I wanna thank everyone for your help. Really, it was very inforative and useful.
Quick Refresh: Frantic...Need a whole lotta stuff, DBs, multi-platform server, etc...Forms, and more...
But now a new problem rears its ugly head. On top of everything else, I said I need to write to a DB, I don't think I specified that was an MS Access database...I was reading some FAQs and turns out(it hadn't hit me untili I read it, sadly) Ms Access is clearly not cross-platform. And being as my intranet site will not be on a Windows Server, what options do I have?
Notes: cannot change DB type, they need it to remain Access, priod.(that part sucks) Now they MAY consider the slim possibility of Oracle Web DB, will that help?
I did notice some sort of weird method in the FAQs of using an SQL as an intermediary DB for transporting info from server to server, but that sucks. But assuming that is all the option, how would I go about it?
I would prefer this method, please tell me it is possible...(but don't lie...) I wanna write from the server my site is on to a DB on another server...they are under the same firewall. But is it possible?

Please guys, help me out a little bit more.

Tell them ACCESS is NOT a web database and will NOT provide what they need. Using access connected to the web could be a problem down the road. It wasn't designed for that. SQL server was.

You need to get ODBC and take the ACCESS database tables and import them into mysql on your server. You can work between the two databases updating them so they can keep their ACCESS for at the office and you can use mysql for the web.

Best of all it's free. Oracle is going to cost a fortune.

this is not very helpful, but here goes..

As Justin said, dont consider MS Access a proper database for internet use..

You will probably get more problems than you can handle..

If you are locked into an Access solution, you would do better to go for an MS platform as well..

Just my opinion..

Thank you, that is indeed somewhat helpful, I did kiinda get the impression I didn't want to use Access, but that you for helping me see it somewhat more clearly. Please tell me it is an automated process? So long as there is a way to get the SQL to update the Access without needing manual input that would be fine...(That way they wouldn't even really notice.) And how would I go about it?

I am not the person that should be doing this kinda thing, I make webpages, plain and simple, have for a long time. I am an intern, only learning programming, I have had 0 experience with ODBC and databases. IS the ODBC process automated?

Yes I remember you. That's completely irrelevant to your question, however, and is a very not-helpful topic description. There's lots of people that are here a lot. It would be a pain in the butt if every description were 'Hey It's Me' or 'I'm Here Again'

There is a seperate forum on this site for Database-Related help.

For my website, I use Access to modify information, then export the tables to comma-seperated-value (CSV) files, and import them into MySQL. If need be, you can reverse the process.

As far as manual schtuff goes, you may need to manually import/export your CSV files, but you won't need to type everything in every time you need to update.
