Delete rows from an Array ?

Hi!

A simple question (not for me, thouhg...) :

<pre>
$f=0;
for($i=0; $i<$num_rows; $i++){
if(there_exists_more_records_like_row[$i])
delete_row($i);
}
</pre>

I am filling up a table in MySQL with search-words and id's. But I get a lot of records with same id and searchwords ( =equal records ).

Does anyone know how I easily can get rid of these multiple records/rows ?

if you're inserting something in your mysql-tables, set the rows id and searchword to unique. mysql will do the rest.

if you're reading from mysql into php, add a DISTINCT to your query. see mysql help for details.

Unique, yes, that would to it !

But I need to make the rows id and searchword to be unique in combination - how do I declare that ?

If I make id and searchword unique separately, then I do not get the info I want. I would like to be able to have many different searchwords per id.

I'm almost done now....just need a little more help...

hmm. that makes it kinda complicated. you could make an md5 over the important columns and put that one in another new column. make this column unique. when inserting new rows, build the md5 and insert it with the other values.
