using round()

i am using round to round numbers to the nearest hundredth. so i have this:

$t = round($num, 2);

now this works fine unless the hundredth place is zero in which case it is dropped, as it should be. what my question is is if there is a way to keep the hundredth place always there even if it is zero. can i do with without whipping up a regex?

$t .= (!strpos($t, ".")?".00":"");

You could also use sprintf() or printf() to format the output.

$variable = sprintf( "%.2f", $t );
or
printf( "%.2f", $t );
