I'm a newbie, and I need HELP!!!

Hi all, I'm a newbie with PHP and I am in need of a little assistanace.

I want to make a script that allows me to have my users register at my site, log into my site, and log out of my site. I also want to be able to use the username on some of the pages that I will have on my site.

I am using a MySQL Database and PHP4. Can anyone help me?

I think Julie Meloni (sp?) was referenced earlier today. She has written several good books on PHP and you can download source code from her site www.thickbook.com.
