concatinating variables???

hi. i'm trying to something so simple and i've been working on it for hours to no avail. can someone please tell me what the syntax is for concatinating variables?

ie:
i have values in $my_var_0 through $my_var_9
and i'm trying to get at them in a for loop.

for ($i=0;$i<10;$i++){
$this_value=eval("\$my_var_".$i);
echo $this_value;
}

i've tried a million things and nothing seems to work. thanks so much for any help!!

I think this should work:

for ($i=0;$i<10;$i++)
{
$this_value = $my_var_".$i;
echo $this_value;
}

I don't have time to really evaluate this though... Gotta go to work!

You really shouldn't post in such a hurry :-)

for ($i=0;$i<10;$i++)
{
$this_value = "my_var_".$i;
echo $$this_value; // No typo, there should be two $ signs.
}

or:

for ($i=0;$i<10;$i++)
{
echo ${"my_var_".$i};
}

It's called 'variable variables' check it out in the manual.

$this_value = ${"myvar_" . $i}

$this_value = ${"myvar_" . $i} worked like a charm.

this was so frustrating - i couldn't find the syntax anywhere - not under "concat", "concat variable", "concatenation", "variable" - nor in my Wrox PHP book. i literally spent 3 hours trying different variations before posting to the group.

again, i really appreciate all the responses. thanks.
