cookies won't read

Ok, after some fiddl'n around with this problem, what I came to realize is that:

I can see the cookie value by calling it as a variable, but only in the page from which the cookie was set.

I can't call the variable in any of my other pages.

I'm sure hoping someone can give me a hand up here.

in the path sec for the cookie put "/" means the cookie is valid for the who domain

ie

if you leave it blank it will only work for that path

www.mydomain.com/test/

but if you use / then is will handel any path

www.mydomain.com/test/
www.mydomain.com/test2/
