reading content of a file

im trying to open a file, and print the content out..
heres the code...
$fp = fopen ("/local/home/a1528/domains/korean69.com/public_html/www.korean69.com/indext.htm", "r");
echo $fp;
but it always returns Resource id #1??
no idea what that means..just started using php an h ago....

fopen only opens the file for whatever reason you want to like for reading or writing. you need to actually add a few more lines of codes to read from that file.
$filename="YOURFILE.NAME";
$fp=fopen($filename,"r");
$stuff=fread($fp,filesize($filename));
echo $stuff;
