A little bit of HTML help Please.

I need help with a little bit of HTML here. I am an expert at HTML for 3, almost 4 years now, and I have a question about tables. I know how to make them and all, and I use Dreamweaver for all my HTML (even though I have to go back and edit some myself). Anyways down to what I need help with.

Phpbuilder.com is setup with Recent Articals on the left, the content (news, board, etc..) in the middle, and then (on tha main page anyways)on the right, recent topics posted here.

What I need help with is kinda hard to explain. I'll just tell you what has happened to me.

I made a table with 3 columns and 1 row. My very left row is my nav bar, so you can go to different pages. The middle is my news (called from MySQL), and the right is other things like little banners, links, and recent news. My problem: When I put content in all of the places I want, and I have one cell that has more content (longer) than the other, it makes the other two move where I dont want them to be. I need to know how to solve this problem.

If anyone can help this will be a BIG load off my back.

my suggestion is that you fix the width of your outer columns and do not set a width for the inner column that way the two outer column stay as you set them.
there are 2 ways to do this:
use: set the width in the TD tag
<pre><TD width=200>left column!!</>
<TD >middle column!!</>
<TD width=200>right column!!</>
</pre>
or use a "space" or Blank image to set the width on the outer colums,

you may also set the width for the table , this is not a good idea though, due to different resolutions

Im not having problems with the width. It is something to do with the height. Take a look at http://www.http://www.acidsun.com/index45.php and you will somewhat see. I outlined 2 of the tables so you can see them, the one on the left (red) is fine, it is the one on the right (black), and then I have the news and the other stuff there too. Whenever I add more content to the stuff column than I do the news, it takes the other cloumn and brings it down with it.

simple just add a "valign" attribute to the right column TD e.g "<td height="" width="43%" align="left" valign="top">"
