Array Problem

Hi, i have an sql query result like this:

|Michael |
|Schumacher |
|Mikka |
|Hakkinen |
|Rubens |
|Barrichelo |
+------------+

All in one column (including names and last names), but i know the values are pairs and i whant to put all names in a key "Names" and all last names in a key "Last_name" using a multi dimensional array.

How can i do this?

If your result is always:
+------------+
|FirstName |
|LastName |
|FirstName |
|LastName |
+------------+

Then this is easy.

for ($i = 0; $i < count($array); $i+=2) {
$new_array[$array[$i]] = $array[$i+1];
}

This might work too:

while( $firstname = next( $array ) )
{
$new_array[ $firstname ] = next( $array );
}
