Nl2br

OK. I have a sort of a posting script, it's set to make carriage returns to <br>, the problem is, it makes them but also adds one, so its like this:

Blah Blah Blah
Gah Gah Gah

it turns that into

Blah Blah Blah
<br>
Gah Gah Gah

then if i wanted to edit it, it would become:

Blah Blah Blah
<br>
<br>
<br>
Gah Gah Gah

I don't know why it does this, can someone help me? PLEASE

nl2br() does not remove the newline character, it just adds a break tag whereever it sees a newline character. So it still has the newline characters when you edit it. You run it through nl2br() again after editing, and it adds the <BR> again.

Try running it through strip_tags() before calling it to edit. So when you are editing the BR tags are not there.
