The best solution would be to read http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.xml.php and recompile PHP, but this is not the answer to your question. It's not a simple class.
But you might find something (a class) in http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/XML_and_PHP/
