Is it possible to track a user when he/she logs logs off website. I am developing a webcam site and when a user logs on,this then sets them Live in mysql and shows them up as live in parts of the site. If they log off without loggnit out or get disconnected, it is possible to track or notice this and then log them out accordingly? I have seen things like this work on www.swebcam.com and on citizenx.com but that uses asp. Any help would be appreciated.

FAQ #246: "Can I detect when a user leaves my site without pressing a logout button?"

A: Not really. The only thing you can do is keep track of which users/clients are requesting pages from your site. If they stop requesting pages for X minutes, it's safe to say that they are nolonger looking at your site.

How do set the time in a table in mysql and then run a query to check and show all users than been on within the last 3 mins. If i have a frame that autoupdates every 1 minute and updates a field called timeon in mysql. Then mysql runs a query to check all users that have updated with 3minutes of the current time. This then shows them as being "ONLINE" Is that clear?
