POSTing from within a Script

With a html form it is easy to POST to another www server.

How can I do the same from within a PHP script?

The POST must result in a web-page of the other www server being displayed based on the variables Posted. i.e. something like using a Google search box, but not executed by the browser, but rather by PHP from my server.

It's not very easy to POST to a form. You can GET by just putting the variables in the url, but to POST, you have to use sockets. You open a socket on port 80 of the remote server, and feed in some headers.

This will not result in the page on the remote server actually being displayed.

You can send the post-variables and fetch the generated page, but you can not have the other site display the result, using PHP.

To see the result of a post on a website, the information has to be submited from the client.

The part that's commented out:

will output the page. Ok, any relative links wouldn't work, but the page is there.
