need help in cookie

Is the value of cookie restricted in it's length?

Hi Kelly,

I've read that cookies are restricted to 4Kb in size, but that in IE 5.0, you're restricted to 4Kb for each domain, with a maximum of 20 different cookies. If you're developing on a shared domain, I'd forget it..

Now I want to know if I send parameter by "GET",or the parameter is after a redirect url,What is the max length of the parameter? Could you tell me weather it maybe lost if it's very large?
