scheduled email sending

Hi!

(I read the threat with the same subject- no
help)

I've written something like a message board
After you put stuff inside an email is
generated and informs someone.
But there are 3 time fields in that table
now, now+3min, and (the crux!)
delivertime

The problem i currently got is not to send
that mail immedeately but at the
delivertime which is sometime in the
future (lets say: after weekend - but
could also be in one year...)

I thought to use the UNIX "at" command from
within PHP, but this command is interactiv.
Same in setting up a cronjob.

Pleas keep in mind that, the job shouldbe done at a time the user can freely choose!

The easiest way to do this is with a cronjob, but you will have to limit your users to what time they can send this future email. My best suggestion would be to set up an hourly cronjob that ran a php script to pull out everything that was supposed to go out that hour. So now your user can send mail out at a specific hour of a specific day that they would like it to. Assuming that up to the minute is not necessary. Hope that helps:
