I've followed the instructions from the article and can't get it working. I found this comment with the article
<pre>I'm trying to edit httpd.conf in windows (98) to get this to work, using the location directive. If I use the url, http://localhost/local/ it works fine, but if use http://localhost/local/something/ it gives a PHP error:
Fatal error: Unable to open D:\sites\public_html/local/something/ in Unknown on line 0 </pre>
and that's exactly my problem. However I couldn't find any posts with advice or the solution.
Frustrating thing is my host is on linux and I'm going through this pain just so I can have a development environment. I hope my host can do it more quickly!
