Sending 401 Unauthorised headers

Hi all,

On the page entrance, i send "401 Unauthorised" header to the visitor and require him to enter a username and password, then i retrieve his entrys with $PHP_AUTH_PW,$PHP_AUTH_USER variables, and check them if they are correct or not.

This script works well locally, but it gives 500 Internal server error on my remote host, what can cause this, any input is welcome.

try to change the line

header("HTTP/1.0 401 Unauthorized");
to
header("Status: 401 Unauthorized");

this should work for windows AND linux servers
