Problems with reading Web Page

I am trying to read a web page into a PHP script. I have done countless times before with absolutely no problem. Previously I have used this.....
$lines_array = file('http://www.etc...');
However using this with this particular url I get the error - - Bad file descriptor.
I can paste the URL into my browser, it returns the page and the URL remains there unmodified at the top of the IE5 screen.

So I resorted to a little tool I downloaded called "Snoopy". This is a PHP Class that simulates a web browser. It handles Cookies, Redirects, enables you to set referer, user_agent and header content. But no matter what I do I get back...

response code: HTTP/1.1 302 Object moved

and I don't get the content.

How can I see what IE5 is doing that enables it to get the content!!
