extracting domain name

Hi there,

i'm trying to make links to point it to the domain name without any folders or subfolder or script names:

for example :

i have :
http://www.zend.com/folder/myfile.com

and i need to point it to
http://www.zend.com

so kinda get rid of right part or whatever else it will be ...

I'm not really good with regexp :-) so in this case I would have used just substring - find the position of the third "/" and cut your string by that symbol. Not nice solution, nevertheless...
Or faster: explode your URL by "/":
$arr=explode("/", "www.domain.com/path/file.html");
$domain_name=$arr[0];
