Making backend query server

I got a problem about a site, who give the users a lot of information, to a lot a users, but they all get the same information.

I thought about making a kind of script who can connect to the SQL server, get information out, and send this information in a way to the users.

Maybe could the "script" save the information from the database in a kind of variable the user get by reload a site? But but but, can anyway give me an article or some source I can get further with? Please help me :o)

does this information get given to the user when they visit the site ?, or is is by email?

If it's when thay visit the site then p'raps you could do the following:

when the user logs in start a session and run a mysql query on the database to get this information.

Stuff this information into a session variable and then display the data in the session varibale.
