Values with no name

Hiya!

i've read quite a few things about variables and PHP_SELF and REDIRECT_URL, but how do i use a value such as "/index.php?[value]" ? how do i use the 'value' portion? i need to keep the URL intact, so if it is /index.php?seventeen_bunnies_run_across_the_road , i need more than just index.php.

in the manual check out
variable - pre defined

theres argv and argc to the rescue
argc - number of args
argv - array of args

i ended up using $QUERY_STRING, which i couldn't find before but is on the same page as $argv and $argc.
