Stupid form and eregi_replace :-(

Hey,
I've got this problem with a textform I'm working at right now:
I want to have the possibility to add an image in the middle of a form without writing "all" code for it <img=xxx.jpg>, what I want is to write like this in the form:

[image]picture.jpg[/image] and then it shows the picture when I get the data from the db.

I've tried with
$text=eregi_replace("[image][/image]","<img src=\"picture.jpg\">",$text);

But it doesn't work, I've tried more things but this is the closest I get.
The image name and format may be different but the directory is always the same.

Can someone please help me out with this one, I'm starting to get kinda desperate.

echo $sString;
