Replacing hard coded value

I have some html along the following lines...

.../sale.cgi?cashflow=27

Currently the value is hard coded as 27. I want to replace this with the variable $amount.

What php do I put in place of 27?

i.e.

.../sale.cgi?cashflow=<?php

(what goes here?)

?>

you need to put either:

<?php print $amount; ?>

or

<?php echo $amount; ?>

Either should do the job.

<?=$amount;?>

At the risk of sounding arrogant; have you tried

<? echo $amount; ?>

Keep in mind, in order to use <? to open a PHP block, you must have the short_open_tag boolean configuration directory enabled. Otherwise, you must use <?php to open a PHP block.
