Attach a file in a mail

Hi,

I need some help with a little thingy 🙂

I have a database with customers mailadresses. I want to use it to send mail to each of them using a form:

Sender [ ] (my mailadress)
Message [ ] (the mailmessage)
Attachment [ ] (file from my HD)

What I want to do is send it without uploading/storing the attachment on my website... is that possible or do I have to first upload the file, then send the mails??

The only way to send an attachment from your hard drive without uploading it to the web server is to use a client side e-mail client like Netscape Mail, Outlook, Eudora, etc.

Otherwise, you will have to have a form with an <input type=file name=attachment> field. You can send the mail and include the attachment from the temporary file location (where PHP uploads the file to by default) and then delete the file from the server.
