Overlay a JPG with a GIF

Hi,

Don't know if this can be done, but I need to overlay a JPG image with a transparent GIF.

Can this be done?

Alternatively, I could use a red triangle in the top right-hand corner of the JPG with some text on it sloping downwards at 45 degrees.

Ideas?
