including a PHP file with a parameter..?

i want to include:

forums.php3?forum=1

i tried using this:

include("forums.php3?forum=1");

however it didnt work, i imagine because its looking for the ?forum=1 as part of the filename too, are there any ways around this without the need for SSI's or knowing the absolute paths?

(yes i did try it with the absolute paths too out of desperation but still no luck lol)

can't you just:

$forum=1;
include("forums.php3");

then your file will know the value of $forum, right?

Craig H is correct. You cannot use a parameter in an include. You must first set the variable, then include the file. The file can then make use of the variable, as long as you donot first reset the variable within the called file.
