getting date from day of year?

Ok, I have a day of the year (example: 212). With that, I need to calculate the full date.

For example:

Day of year = 239
Date = 14/08/2001

Can anyone help me?

I would make a unix timestamp of it:

timestamp of year (Jan 1, 0:00) + (day of year 24 60 *60)

this formula gives the unix timestamp for your date, now dump it to any format you wish using date().

in order to get the timestamp of jan 1, see mktime().

Use date() and mktime():

echo date("d/m/Y", mktime(0, 0, 0, 1, $iDayOfYear, 2001));

mktime() lets you enter 'illegal' values and still gives you the correct date.
