Im trying to figure out these lines:

$form["F0"] = $temp[4]&1;
$form["F1"] = ($temp[4]&2)>>1;
$form["F2"] = ($temp[4]&4)>>2;
$form["F3"] = ($temp[4]&8)>>3;

I don't know >> or <<, and what does $value&1 do? (or $value&8, etc.)

I've looked all over the web and php doc's and only found <<= and =>> in the precedence table. No explanation, though.

You can find both of your answers on the manual page concerning bitwise operators:

&lt;&lt; shifts the bits to the left, &gt;&gt; shifts the bits to the right, and &amp; is the bitwise AND operator.
