Dummy question about forms...

Ok ok ok,
Now I know this is a simple thing to setup but I have not found anything in "english" on
how to exactly set it up.
Im designing a site for the March of Dimes here in hawaii (im volunteering) and they need a form that people can fill in all the fields, and when they push submit, it sends an email to the appropriate person and the March of Dimes.

I've created the form Im just not sure of the EXACT steps to do this.
If I can be pointed into the right direction that would be a great help.

set the form action to a php script like page2.php

in page2.php you will automatically have variables of the names in your form (like if you had a field named "last_name" you now have a variable named "$last_name"

push all that stuff into a mail message then mail it to the person you need to. look up the funciton: mail() at php.net

I tried that but for some reason, I dont quite follow everything as I think some of the tut lines arent there.
