Time or session issue

Okay, this is what i want to attempt to make, almost exactly like ebay has it, a limited amount of time a web space is open. Well, this is what I want to do:::

A user in my site will upload something to be discussed:
Now, I only want that metting to be open for about an hour. after the hour, i want the page to close to new elements, but still visible. So what I need is somethign that will count down a time or something that will be stored on a server. is that possible?

Hi Rulian,

All you need is a script to check the "expiry" time of the discussion. When the user uploads it, create an entry in a db with a timestamp set to the expiry time. If the expiry time has not yet passed, give visitors the option to comment. If it has passed, display something like "Discussion Closed".
