Graph in PHP?

Dear Reader,

Is it possible to make a PHP script which makes a graph from a table.. Like Excel does?!

If not, which is the best alternative? Perl, Java??

yup, it can, but you'le have to write the script yourself :o) or search one on the internet

take a look at php's image functions, its not so hard..

there are several ways but the problem is how to get the data from excel.

perhaps there's some direct excel->php converting tool (I dont know).

without, you could save your excel data in "comma separated values" format (.csv). this data structure can be processed easily by php.

once you've read in the values, graph them using the gd functions or the htmlgraph class (in the "code library") etc.

Dear Readers,

maybe I didn't told exactly what I wan't! Let's try it another time! I wan't that PHP creates a Graph (bar graph, line graph) just like Excel can do. So I give PHP some DATA from my SQL database. and I wan't to make PHP a graph from it.

ok, I misunderstood ...
Bruno is right, browse through the PHP reference (www.php.net), PHP provides a lot of functions for simple graphing (note that the modules have to be compiled into PHP).

For advanced graphing, however, I don't know of any built-in functionality.

No, I haven't used it yet, also because I am not allowed to load extensions on my server..
