file search

Is there a way in PHP to search the folder for files containing a certain word?

eg. I want to search for all files containing the word 'tennis' and have them printed on-page as links to the files.

u can use wilcards in mysql :
LIKE '%tennis%' dunno into files sorry

I must confess to being a beginner, so not knowing what on earth wildcards are or how they're used, so I'll headover to the manaul soon.

But, I'm not actually using a database (mysqul), I'm looking for text files in the root folder.

I don't have databse access / support.
