PHP mail() function - and newlines

Hi, I'm trying to do a mail script on this site I'm working on - and it works great except for the comments field - which is multiple lines. If the user ever starts a new line, the email client (outlook in this case) doesn't recognize it. At first I thought I could just use nl2br($comments) like I do for HTML pages - but it doesn't seem to have any affect on the email I send.

What can I do to make Outlook recognize newlines?

Any help is MUCH appreciated,

the mail script that I use simply uses the \n, and it works fine. but you might try \r\n .
