At the beginning of every news story that I add to my site, I add the following code:

Now, when I display the story, I don't want the two images above to be displayed.

I know about ereg_replace etc., but the problem is that the ../homepics/whl.jpg is variable. Is there some sort of wildcard so that I can get rid of the images?

Also, I've got a load of statistics in a database, and I'm trying to display them in a certain way, but I can't do it no matter what I try. I'd be very grateful if someone would be willing to mail me and attempt to help me (richard@intanet.com)

Well for removing your image tags you'll need to use a regex like you thought.

Something like "/<img.*[^>]>/". I'm not a regex expert but that should look for any text that starts with <img and ends with >, so if you only have the 2 images that you want to remove and they are always first you can build your code to process this regex and then use a replace on the first 2 matches. Or if they are the only images in your text then you can just use this regex in a replace function and get rid of them in 1 shot.
