Upload multiple files at once

I need to know how to make a upload of n files from a local machine to the webserver all at once, just knowing the files names and its location path. Is it possible??

Ha ha.You're so funny.
I did read that manual part.
Unless you can preset the values for that field, that doesn't help me because i need to keep the user from browsing every single file to upload (It's too many). It needs to be done just by sending the files names and paths to the script and it must upload them to the server.

just think about what you are asking..........

if that were possible, every schmuck with a web server could arbitrarily get any file off your computer they wanted!

the user has to SEND you the file...

if you want to do javascript, where after you paste a list of filenames in a textbox, it would set a bunch of file input fields in a hidden frame with the right values. thats about the only way, and because this isn't a javascript forum you'll have to ask someone else how to do it.

For obvious security reasons, this is not possible in JavaScript for the same reasons you cited. I could automatically do this to get the contents of /etc/passwd or any other sensitive file..

so, to sum it up, you won't be able to do this with PHP. If you have some sort of transfer mechanisms set up between the two hosts (SCP, FTP, etc..) you could write a script to do it.

Actually, it's quite possible with VBScript or JScript (Windows only, great security risk!). Since you can read files from a client's machine using JScript or VBScript FileObjects then it's just a matter of integration your VB or JScript with PHP. I'm working on this right now for my site,ie I need to upload multiple images at once and I all I want to do is to specify a directory on my client machine.
