Updated INSTANT MESSANGER program...

i've updated my Instant messanger program, It looks more sophisticated now 🙂

One thing that I'm trying to figure out is How to automatically pop open a new window when you receive a message, I've tried OnLoad and OnUnload in the body tag, but that didn't help much.

Is there a way to combine Javascript w/ PHP so that whenever you recieve a message, the javascript is activated and a window pops up? If so, please point me to the script 🙂

Or if you have a better idea of how to do that, post that as well.

Nope, not possible because PHP is server-side and JavaScript is client-side.
Now there IS a way to do it but it's complicated, e-mail me with your AOL/AIM name or ICQ # and I'll help you out 🙂

if u want that u need a cron scipt which check for the new messages and then calls the POP everytime.

well, the way my script works is that it refreshes every 15 seconds. In the refresh, it checks a table to see if there are any new messgaes...if there is, it displays it. Now instead of displaying the name of the person who sent the message, i want it to POPUP automatically...get it?

You mite understand it better if you try the Program out

I can send message via ICQ, but how you can get it on website ? I am behind firewall and I can't use ICQ chat. Pelase write me how to ICQ messages on the web.
