Mail function on Win2000 prof

I am running win 2k prof.
when i run a mail function, it says that server error. how to configure the smtp server on win2k. it is already running.

check the bugs on the php.net section.

the mail function is a complete mess on windows. try using sockets to send mail. I think there's an article here somewhere that shows you how to do this. if it's not here, check zend.com in their scripts section
