Automatic php execution via mail

I'm trying to execute a php file when it receive and read a mail. I can do that, but the php it executes continously in the server, and take all the processor time. How can I do that in another way ?

If you're on *Nix, why not set up your mail parse script to execute as a cron job? Then you could merely call the script every $x number of minutes are execute all the newly received mail at once. If you're on Win32, it may be possible to acheive the same thing in Task Manager... but I've never tried. HTH.
