I get a time off a database in the 24hr time format (EG. 15:30)
How do I make a variable equal to the time off the database MINUS 4 hours.

you could convert it to unix time and minus 14400 seconds and then convert it back, or you could $time_arr=explode(":", $time), and then $newtime = ($time_arr[0] - 4) . ":" . $time_arr[1]
