Simple SSI

Recently my web host (AvidHosting) moved my web site to a new server in which they said would have a newer version of PHP on it.

Since the move, none of my SSI have worked at all and the host said its my problem not theirs. (sigh)

I have used the format🙁for example)

successfully for ages prior to them moving my site to a new server.

I know its not a issue of other code on my pages because I created a blank test page with just the SSI file in it and it still did not work.

Any thoughts?

Hi Andrew,

To me it sounds like your host is "not telling the truth" (words altered to protect young viewers). SSIs are more to do with Apaches than PHP, and they should certianly be working regardless of the PHP version.

Check to make sure that the file suffix is being recognised by the server as requiring SSIs - usually .shtml or .shtm etc. Failing that, simply use include() or require().
