check for user status in PHP

What command line do i use to check for the user name my server is running as(e.g "nobody" or "www") everytime i run a PHP script in Linux?

Check for "User/Group" in the phpinfo page. You can create this page by saving to a file the following codes as "info.php" and viewing it in your browser.

I have checked, and my php is running as nobody. I need to get it to run in my root. Is that possible?

For security reasons, you should NEVER run your webserver as root. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? There are other solutions that doesn't compromise security.

i am trying to access my public key(encryption) which is located in my root.
if running as root is not safe, how do i move my public key file to the webserver (nobody)?

I don't know much about encryption key, but I do know how to move files around and change permission.

$mv /current/path_to/foo.key /www/user/public_html/

$chown nobody.nobody foo.key (change file/dir to be owned by user nobody and group nobody)

$chmod 750 foo.key (this will make sure the file is accessible by the webserver but denied to anyone else)

Ask around about webserver and encryption key.
