Dear sir,

we are using mysql database.

I have two tables in one table i am having app_no as permiary key. not auto increment. and another table app_no as references key. and regno as primary key auto increment.

what i want exactly is, when i am searching for a query like this

i want to select the people who have to submitted the application form.

i have found out the people who have registered but i want to find out the people who are not return that back. for that i urgently need of a query.

i think u will consider my request and post me as soon as possible.

I'm not really sure what you are trying to do from your post but I think that u might be trying to join the contents of the two tables. If thats the case try something like this.....

SELECT * from table1, table2 WHERE table1.app_no=table2.app_no AND table1.app_no LIKE "AB12";

its the the WHERE table1.app_no=table2.app_no bit that tells the SELECT statement that the app_no colomns in both tables relates to the same thing and joins the tables.
