I have set myself the task of writing a chat room and would like if at all possiblie to draw on the experience of our forum group.

First.

How would i get the client page to refresh on a time interval of some duration or other ?

Also

What are the bandwidth considerations to be taken into account?

Any thoughts or insights are as always kindly received

Use the meta refresh tag to specify a refresh interval

<META http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0; URL=Somepage.php"> where 0 is the time until refresh

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new at php (about 2 weeks only) and am also interested in chat technology. Does anyone of you know where I could find some simple info about how does it run, what to take into account, and so on... so that I could understand it before trying to develop one.
