random result without any repeatation

hi,

If u mean the output that u get from the query,then u can use distinct function.

example:

select distinct(employeeid) from employee;

let say i want to put examination on the web.
i want my multiple choice questions randomly shown one by one. The questions should not repeat before a student finish his / her exam. what should i do? i try the query below but it tends to repeat.

$sql="Select distinctrow question,a,b,c,d,answer, (rowid*0+RAND()) as
random_col FROM $pname ORDER BY random_col limit 0,1";

anything wrong with the query?
