Thanks for the fast reply to my query on asking how to make a browser, IE, go full screen.
You say it is a javascript question not PHP. Hmmmm! I'm working in PHP. In this forum there are 54000 items on all sorts of subjects associates with PHP; and many real gems. I see how to save in Excel format. Should this not be in this forum because it mentions the word Excel. I see discussion on how to produce a PDF formatted document using PHP. Shouldn't be here because it mentions PDF.
Who knows what some bright spark might have come up with to produce a bit of PHP code to force the browser up to full screen. In fact there is a bit of code mentioned a few weeks back; but I could not get it to work.
Regarding the rest of your comment as to usabiltity, yes, I'm fed up with pop-up adverts and the like. However what makes you think that just because I am using IE, I am using it to sell something and make a dime. Actually I am using it to show data from a database. Now 15% of the screen is taken up with heading, menus, buttons and address window. I've seen those lovely IE/Netscape buttons before, in fact I've been staring at them for five years wondering why they waste so much of my screen, beautiful though they may be.
With full screen I can get a heap more data on the screen, more satisfying and useful for the user. Further more the full screen is less claustophobic. Press F11 sometime and try it. Gosh it looks so much better.
How come we've ended up with so much garbage at the top of the screen. Browsers are being used more and more in areas other than trying to sell something and make a dime. This is why PHP is so Whizzzz.
Back to my question - is there an easy way to make the view go full screen from an HTML/PHP environment? I could always tell them to press F11 I suppose, but people often fail to read simple instruction like this. Anybody out there got any goooood responses?
Paul
PS I am not sure that your --- horrible, horrible (HORRIBLE) --- is appropriate. I feel it was a bit over the top. By the way, how do you spell flaming?
