PostgreSQL on Windows

Hi,

I'm trying to set up postgresql on a windows 98 machine (for dev only). I've downloaded cygwin and installed it.

I don't know much about unix so please go easy. What the hell do i do now? I guess I untar the binary of postgresql to somewhere and install it somehow so i can then run the server somehow when i need to. How do I do this?

If you have a tared version chances are its a linux binary. You need to find the windows version.usually a zip file instead of a tar.
